I had a journey through Telford Plaza/Mega Box and connected MTR with my classmates, we saw so many public information displays and media services inside the mall.
There have Television and so many monitors with touch screen to show the information to the public. The most unforgettable is the television in Telford Plaza. It caught our eyes at that time, nowadays everyone got their own mobile dives, people can search for anything or read the news in anytime, it is very unusual for people to watch television with broadcasting in the public area.
But that day, a bunch of people was standing in front of the television. The television is placed in the middle of the mall, so those people were really blocking the road but they still stand there and keep watching the news. People loved using their phone and keep their head down but why that day all those people were so focused on the news, it is all about the current event that Hong Kong been through. At that day, people in Hong Kong are having the protest to fight for their right, it is a very important event this year and most of the people in Hong Kong are really pay close attention of this event.
Television provided real-time news and stable internet so that the public can know what happened during the event although they are not able to get there. People are sharing the information together at the mall in front of the TV, they talked and discussed with the one who stands next to them. They are strangers to all of them, but they can still discuss with the same topic because they are watching the same news so that they know what happens and just like forming a little focus group inside the mall, after they watched the news or during watching, people tried to communicate with others and shared their opinions to others face to face.
If they read the news on their own mobile device, they can still make a comment on Facebook or any forum, since we have a current event that public pay attention to and they use this kind of public media, it can really provide information and also give people a chance to communicate with the society which they do not do it usually.
