The researcher at Bournemouth University study about how the food culture can be shared online and make it into a food community by using the blog. People can not live without food, it is really necessary for people but everyone may have a different feeling about it. Someone may think it is only a way to maintain people life, some may think it is activities or even an art. Before eating, the food needs to be cooked, it does need practices, people need to learn how to cook. People love sharing, sharing food or even sharing the recipes. Since food is a culture when people sharing food/recipes, it is mean welcome others to learn or know more about their culture.

The globalization brings people together as a group, the technology help people to search the world, browse something they like, share the options and bring out ideas. People start writing blogs to share the recipes with the public. They share and comment about the recipes and food, just like an online cookbook that the writer and reader can interact. The study found out that the writer of the famous blogger Clotilde started blogging food in 2003, and there were more other food bloggers at that time. And it is hard to know the number of food blogs because it has a long long history. The research also has shown that Technorati has more than 16,000 food blogs in the site in July 2012.

It can be clear to let me know that food blogs have become popular and also common for being a blog genre. People have been writing about food since 2003 until now, it is not a recent hit but a long term favourite. We can still saw so many online recipes on the blog nowadays, the food blog can be so different that have traditional style, family special or even fusion style. The recipes are always something new, people work as a community to learn from each other and get inspired.

This a qualitative research using the content analysis method. It records the data from various videos and blog posts systematically. The researchers chose a total of 100 videos and 100 food blog posts and broken down into 25 blogs to be the sources. The food blogs were chosen randomly on the internet from the past two years. The result shows that the blogs are mainly in a multi-purpose that not only focus in a specified category. But there is still some blog only focus on health food, food for vegetarian or baking. Also, the research shows that most of the blog have between 1 to 10 comments (34%), and the second-most is between 21 to 50 comments (22%). All of the blogs have included photos in the blog posts and only 4% have included videos.

The research found out that food blogs were more easy to spread out since people can do a  quick Google search, it will show countless blog posts about the food genre you wanna to read. Besides people can find the food blog easily, food blog gives a detailed recipe to the public, people can read it anytime they want and follow it step by step to make a wonderful meal.

In this study, what intrigued me the most is the comment part. At first, I think people may not willing to comment on the blog because there are so many different food blog posts, it may only have a few comments for all the post. It was wrong, the blog post which gets 0 comments only have 8%, it is really a small amount of research. For the traditional paper cookbook also has the same function for people to follow the step and read the photo of the recipes but the most different is “without questioning”. Food blog gives a chance to question or interact with people in the same interest, so people willing to comment on the food blog.

This a quantitative research using the questionnaire. The targets are the food blog readers. The total number of the responses are 130. The result shows that more than half reader are food bloggers (54.62%). Food bloggers were more likely comment and follow more blog than non-food bloggers.

The purpose of reading the food blog is mostly for inspiration, get recipe ideas, entertainment and find a specific recipe. But there are some differences for food bloggers than non-food bloggers. Besides the above reason, food bloggers read food blogs are mostly want to keep up to date with the particular bloggers and interact with the community.

Overall, it can be seen that most of the respondents are in positive for the food blog. People love to interact in the food blog community no matter they are a food blogger or not, they just comment in a different way. For those food bloggers are comment to engage with other bloggers, but for the non-food bloggers also have comments. The result shows that half of them comment to the blog for giving feedback on how the recipe turned out for them. It can see that people are being trusted to the blogger since they willing to try the recipes on the food blog. People are getting a connection to the food blog and also the food blog can really be useful for the public.
